The Norfolk Foundation "crew" got together on March 26th at Dockside. Happy to see Spike & Bill, along with the regular crowd of Rudy, Lumpy, Billy Mac, Steiner, Rodent, Vern, Paulie, Dustin, Purds, JT, Lips, and Mike. Great stories and food. We are looking forward to the next Dulang "Spring Fling" Production on April 16th in Norfolk area - time and place TBD but look for Dulang's updates.
The Q1 (Jan-Mar) 2026 1MC has been posted. Check it out - look under the "1MC" page link above.
A new(er) replacement E-2C Hawkeye (BuNo 166506) was delivered to NAS North Island to replace the current Hawkeye (BuNo 161227) currently on display since the museum's opening in 2004. Flown in by a VAW-120 crew (pilots LT Colin "Airbud" Jaggers, LT Aaron "Boss Baby" Banasiewicz, and NFO LT (French Navy) Cedric "Creme" Brule), they elected a carrier break at North Island, arriving at warp speed, wrapping it up hard, and generating spectacular wingtip vapes in the setting sun. A fantastic final tribute for her last flight.
The crew were welcomed by a cast of Midway E-2 mafia members, foundation members, the museum Director of Operations Mark Berlin, and Air Wing manager Steve Smith. Pictures (below) are courtesy of VVVF Board Member Dave Daugherty.
