 AVCM Ken Borchik


  AVCM Ken A. Borchik, USN-Ret, started his service with the VAW community in 1980 as an avionics electrician at the East Coast VAW/VRC Fleet Replacement Squadron, RVAW-120.  From there, he served in the Avionics Department for VAW 115, as an Instructor at RVAW 110 FRAMP, and Avionics branch chief and Flight Deck Coordinator in VAW-117.  Ashore, he was the AE detailer for the Navy at Naval Military Personnel Command (NMPC), Maintenance Master Chief for VRC-30, lead for the Commander, Naval Air Forces, Pacific (CNAP) Maintenance Inspection Team, completing his active duty as the Maintenance Master Chief for HSL- 43, retiring in 2007.  During this time, in addition to numerous operational deployments at sea, he completed deployments to Iraq and Afghanistan in support of operations for the Global War on Terrorism.  After retirement, Master Chief Borchik joined General Atomics, supporting its Unmanned Aerial Vehicle Programs as a Program Manager. Master Chief Borchik is a Board member with the VAW/VRC/VUQ Foundation and continues his service to theVAW/VRC/VUQ Community, especially with his work onboard the USS MIDWAY Museum in San Diego.
